I was involved in the MVP planning and execution, subsequently working up the product roadmap, UX and Visual Design.
To better understand the potential market that had been identified, interviews were conducted with personal trainers, fitness professionals and their students. Themes emerged around how they saw potential in digital forms of their classes, but frustration in current online offerings.
Using the research insights, brainstorming and synthesising information into functions, a series of features evolved which aimed to solve the user goals.
The key features derived were:
Rather than YouTube or DVD content, for viewers a content platform tailored just for specific genres
Re-useable content for creators which can be organised into mixes of different lengths and aims
A revenue stream for both the business and the content creators
Features were synthesised into functional components and flows designed to create a streamlined and user-friendly experience.
To validate the ideas, a visual design was created and translated into a clickable prototype. This provided a way for panels of test users to interact and provide feedback on the features.
A set of design patterns was created and agreed with business stakeholders to allow modular rollout of components and smooth developer handover.
